In 2016, the faculty at Lone Star College – University Park, in Houston Texas, had an idea, BRING THE OUTCROP INSIDE. Starting from the faculty’s initial diagram, we designed and built a stunning 3 story Geology Rock Wall. This L-shaped wall allows students to put into practice what they have just studied. Now at Lone Star College, students decipher the deposition, faulting, folding, tilting, erosional, and intrusive events to arrive at their own interpretation of the Geology Rock Wall. While the wall was built for education, it is more, it is a eye-catching work of art.
